Today was ANZAC Day - Australia and New Zealand Army Corp Day, like Remembrance Day. That means it was a bank holiday (on a Thursday), so we both had the day off. As the weather forecast was for sun all day, we decided to go for a long walk around Wellington. We got the bus down down to Island Bay, and joined the Southern Walkway which goes straight back up to where we live. As we have come to learn, you can't trust the weather forecast here (even less so than in the UK), and it absolutely chucked down with rain when we started out. We got soaked, but luckily the sun eventually came out as promised and it turned into a stunning day. The walk finished at a viewpoint on Mount Victoria, which has panoramic views over the bays, the airport, the harbour, and our flat! The walk took about 3 hours, and at the end we treated oursleves to several Anzac biscuits, my new favourite!
How else would you get up to your house?
