J&V Down Under: Sydney meets Springfield

We've been back in Sydney for a few days, just getting things sorted before flying out to New Zealand. On Friday night, we were invited to Sam's 30th Birthday Party. It was fancy dress, and the theme was childhood idols. We didn't really know what to go as, and so while we were in Perth Vik raided the fancy dress box. She found a blue wig.....and the rest is history. It was a really funny night, and the effort that went into some of the outfits was amazing.

On Saturday night, we went out for dinner with Jess and Jonathan (that we stayed with in Sydney last time around), and their friends Jess and Luke who are over visiting from Wellington! It was great to chat to them about places to live and things to do, and it will be really nice to know people when we get there!

Today, we made a very last minute trip to go to a bike shop. Mike had told us that there was a brand of really cheap bikes in Australia, and when we looked into it we discovered that it was far cheaper to buy bikes Australia and put them on the plane than but them in NZ. So we bought them, lugged them home on the bus and now fingers crossed we can get them on the plane tomorrow without any problems! After dropping our new bikes off and a quick change of clothes, we headed into town to meet Mike and Jayne. We had lunch and a few beers in The Rocks area of Sydney, enjoying the sunshine and the company. It was a really lovely way to spend our last day in Australia. So it's bye for now Oz, until next time!
