Road Trip!

This week, Lenny, Laura, Dave, Jon and I hired a couple of camper vans, and drove south of Perth to a region called Margaret River. We stopped off at few places along the way- Bussleton, famous for its pier, was stunning with white sands crystal clear waters. We then drove on to Yallingup, and stayed at the most stunning campsite I have ever seen. Facilities were immaculate, and the BBQ area overlooked the sea where the sun set.

There's no escaping seagulls!

Chillin' by the Van

From Yallingup, we went a little further south to Margaret River itself and stayed in Prevelly. Margaret River is famous for its wineries, and so we spent a day doing an organised tour. It was a great day, with plenty of wine 'tasting' and a delicious lunch. On the Friday night, Vicky, Jim and the kids drove down from Perth to spend the weekend camping with us. There was an international surf competition being held just down the road from our campsite, and so we went up there several times to watch the pros which was cool. We had a brilliant afternoon on Saturday visiting yet another winery, then having food at a gorgeous bistro in Margaret River.

Lunch included crocodile and kangaroo.....followed by some witchetty grub!

We tasted all of these wines!

We had such a fun week.  Great company, food and drink.  The van was brilliant - I loved driving it as well as sleeping in it.  But now I REALLY want one!
