The day that so many of Mike and Jayne's friends and family had travelled to Australia for finally arrived. We took the train up to Newcastle with Cobby, Noblet and Frayson the day before the wedding, which was very scenic, and actually shockingly cheap ($8.40). After an elaborate checking in process to sneak 5 of us into a 4 bedded apartment, we had a quick change of clothes and headed out to meet everyone for dinner and few drinks. Sadly, this was the point that the rain arrived......and it didn't stop for the entire weekend. Mike and Jayno tried to remain optimistic, with contingency plans of which groomsmen was responsible for which bridesmaid should her heel get stuck in the mud!
Unfortunately, the rain just got heavier, and on the morning of the wedding the decision was made to have the ceremony indoors rather than in the park as planned. It may not have been what they had dreamed of, but it honestly didn't matter. The day was full of love and happiness, and the weather was soon forgotten about. Jayne looked truly stunning, and Mikey nearly burst with pride. They are a couple that are destined for each other, and I know that they will have a lifetime of joy together.

Movie Star Bride
The wedding day was absolutely brilliant and celebrations didn't stop there! The following day about 40 guests got a coach up to Jayno's parents' house, in a more rural area just outside Newcastle. Much to Jon's delight, Jayne's mum had cooked up a massive chilli and there were three huge eskys* full of beers. Despite the continued rain (and slight hangover), it was a lovely day, and a really nice opportunity to chat to people that we didn't speak to at the wedding.
The only sad part of the weekend was saying goodbye to Frayson, who had to fly back to the UK. Still, our mood was lifted again thanks to our fabulous host Jessica cooking us a roast dinner! Yay!
*Aussie slang for a huge cool box
